RATONES

“Ratones” was shot in the courtyard of the Westbeth residence, right off of the west side highway and park. Its sibling, the East River Park, is a luscious space and home to 978 trees. Some, up to 100 years old. This park has allowed the people of NYC to find a place of joy, nature, leisure, exercise, and artistic exploration. All which is in danger now of coming to an end. (Bill de Blasio’s and Carlina Rivera’s OFFICE) has decided to go through with ESCR, an insidious plan disguised as climate change prevention, that will actually result in ecocide. Activists and organizers have achieved a temporary pause, for now. Ecological warfare is rooted in racism and classism since marginalized communities have fewer resources to go out of the city to find nature and therefore better air quality and relief. It is a matter of concern because every tree cut down is one too many in this climate crisis. We may not have a large platform, but we would like to support our comrades. This video is an oath to rebellion, repurposing our anger, and using it as an energizer to unite and fight for the betterment of us & the world. So, if YOU ever enjoyed the pleasures of the east river park, please SUPPORT and JOIN the brave protestors working to protect this public space. Many have been arrested and the media is not giving this cause any attention. HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP: Call Carolina Rivera’s office: 212-677-1077 Call Bill de Blasios office: 311 And most importantly go to the park, support with your loved ones bring a picnic and blankets, this might be the last chance you get to see these beautiful trees that saw this city become.
