Malaise was made in August of 2020. It was an idea of something gentle but somewhere in the clouds of subway melt, and in the reality of our first summer of quarantine: of being dancers and feeling disconnected from our bodies, from movement, from our city, our loved ones, our selves, the ones we knew before, the world we are all still trying to figure out how to move through and be in, well, this piece is the result of that. This is not a piece about the pandemic. It is a piece about what is left. And not knowing what is left. And the negotiation of that as we carry on.
