Portia Wells improvises to the sound of the autumn ocean on a stormy day at Fort Tilden, NY. When light disappears at dusk, they explore topics of self-acceptance, disappointment, anger, & strength to fight for themselves and their loved ones. As their friend, I shoot this beautiful moment of vulnerability through a lens of love, support, and gratitude. All my friends are revolutionaries, which is why we chose “Meditations in an Emergency” by Cameron Awkward-Rich. Honestly speaking about the reality of the world we live in and how far wrong we have stirred from caring for one another. This film is in support of all-trans peoples, especially our BIPOC family.
